The short version

What you do in soundhue stays on your phone. There's no account, no ads and no tracking, and the app doesn't use your microphone.

What stays on your phone

Your progress, your answers and your settings are stored only on your iPhone, and are part of your phone's normal backup. Deleting the app deletes them. We never see them.

The one thing that leaves your phone

When you open soundhue with an internet connection, it asks Google's Firebase service whether your version of the app is still supported. To answer, Firebase receives an anonymous ID made for this copy of the app, along with your phone's country, language, time zone and system version, and the app's version. It isn't linked to your name, your Apple Account or anything you do in the app, and it is never used for advertising or tracking. Google handles it for us under its Firebase data processing terms, possibly outside your country (including in the United States) under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Google deletes the ID after 270 days without use. For readers in the EU and UK, the basis for this is our legitimate interest in making sure the app you use still works.

This website

soundhue.co sets no cookies and runs no trackers. Cloudflare, which hosts it, handles your IP address to deliver the page and keep the site secure.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. We receive no payment details and no Apple Account details; the app only asks Apple whether a subscription is active.

Children

soundhue collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Write to appsupport@soundhue.co with any question about your data. If you're in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If what soundhue does with data changes, this page changes first, with a new date.
